Akudama will be releasing a new single, A&B sides w/ full cover art, each month on their website, and the best part is, the music is 100% FREE.  (After each month the music will be available to purchase digitally, and will remain free to stream directly from the site)

We are all keeping our fingers crossed for an early spring over here at the Endless HQ so that we can showcase more new music more frequently. We are looking forward to staging some house parties, rooftop soirées, and other musical social events.

Akudama will continue showcasing material all around the North East in support of the "Johnny Appleseed" E.P. released earlier this summer. Additionally, the band has a number of tracks near completion that will be released as digital packages, complete with new artwork, photos, and music videos. In addition to the excellent video for "I Will Be Glad," we anticipate "Out Again" to make its video debut in NYC this October or November.

Congratulations go out to our friends, and former labelmates, The Main Drag, about thier inclusion of "A Jagged Gorgeous Winter" in the smash hit video game, "Rock Band II." For more information about thier doings, check out the new site here: RPL Audio.

While most of the artists here are currently only engaging in one-off dates, or writing new material, Akudama is taking the summer by storm.

Since the last news update, Akudama has been nominated as one of the best local artists (NYC) by The Deli Magazine, has played in venues all over the eastern half of the United States, "Out Again" and "Night Club" have been picked up by a number of radio stations including WFNX in Boston on their "Best New Music" segment, and the band members are in high spirits.

There are a number of private events, which we can not announce, but rest assured, the Akudama boys will be back playing your town live really soon. If you are interested in helping set up a show, please contact us here, and we'll try to work something out.

In other related news, Akudamamusic.com is almost ready for launch, and the band has a TON of exciting material for their fans including demo tracks, artwork from the band, behind the scenes photos and videos from tour, and even some games. Check back soon for the official announcement, and hopefully some activity from the other Endless Recordings related groups.

Ryan and Matty will take a short hiatus in order to recharge their creative juices, and we will see what becomes of the band in the fall of 2008. We have been assured that there is a lot of music left in these guys, but the future of "Tiny Whales" as an entity is still uncertain.

In other news, Akudama have successfully finished up the first leg of their US summer tour.  Some photos and stories from the road will be available soon on the "fan section" of the new website, appropriately titled The Appletree.

As the band takes a well deserved break at home around NYC, they have a few "secret" shows lined up (sorry, we are not at liberty to post them) and a special show at The Delancey, in celebration of our friends at Break Thru Radio's birthday.

Tour is officially underway. There have been some bumps in the road, namely a blown tire on the way to Syracuse. The band is currently somewhere West of Pittsburgh, and enjoying playing to new audiences along side their friends in Kentucky Nightmare.

The first leg of the summer tour has been officially booked, and you can expect to see full details about dates out towards Indiana and back right here on this site and the Myspace page shortly.

The band is also knee deep in shoots for music videos that will compliment their E.P. release on May 22nd. (More information about that special show soon as well)

Tuesday morning the band purchased what is to be their  deluxe van for the 2008 Summer tour. About two hours and 150 miles into their trip to Boston to play at The Middle East, smoke starts pouring out from the underside of the van.

They immediately pull over and arrange to be towed to the nearest service station which thankfully had a few U-Hauls available for rent. All of the equipment was then transferred to the rented 14 foot truck. Miraculously, the band made it on time to what turned out to be an excellent show with White Hinterland and Throw Me The Statue.

(Many thanks to the crowd of friendly faces and also to the new fans who were able to show their support at the Middle East on a Tuesday night!)

As the van was immobile the middle of Connecticut, the band then had to return the U-Haul, and arrange for their newly purchased vehicle to be towed back towards NYC where it could be worked on at length by a trusted mechanic.

Now, again without a proper touring vehicle (for the time being), Akudama have four additional shows in the next seven days.... Exciting times these are!

On the Tiny Whales front: The guys are regrouping after their last tour outing, and are planning new material to record for a full length release to be announced soon.
