Things have been going very well for me this Spring (though I say "Spring" as it is snowing outside of my window). The imminent move to New York City from Boston is motivating me to become more involved with a lot of projects that I have wanted to finish up before I leave this town.
Also, I am pretty excited for the opportunity to see Spoon play at the MFA right before the month is over. One of my favorite bands, in one of the most beautiful locations in town is sure to be a memorable event.
I have been grateful for the opportunities that people have offered me in the past few weeks, one of which is likely to start upon my arrival in NYC: Starting as a Talent Buyer for Lit Lounge, where the recent "Knocks From The Underground" New York release took place last weekend. As it is a job that I can handle almost entirely during my free time, I look forward to meeting a lot of new bands, managers, and the New Yorkers who show up to my gigs. "Endless Recordings Presents:" is officially starting up in full effect and I could not be more pleased.
Again, I can not recommend the following new albums enough:
Modest Mouse: We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank
Ted Leo: Living with the Living
Dr. Dog: We All Belong
Amy Winehouse: Back to Black
Apostle of Hustle: National Anthem of Nowhere
The Arcade Fire: Neon Bible
Menomena: Friend and Foe
Young Knives: Voices of Animals and Men
The Shins: Wincing the Night Away
Please, for your listening enlightenment, check some of them out!
