I normally don't do this, but I feel compelled to say:

Check out The Young Knives & if you enjoy, Buy their record! The Main Drag opened for this relatively new British band last week. The Young Knives' performance was a breath of fresh air... to hear a stunning band live for the first time, no preconceptions. Their stage banter was hilarious, and the tunes themselves were, as we like to say in Boston, "Wicked."

In other, very positive, music-related news: Modest Mouse's new record (fantastic in my opinion) debuted at # 1 on the Billboard charts. This achievement comes shortly after both The Shins, and Arcade Fire debuted at #2 on the charts. Industry sales may be slumping, but it looks like more and more people are starting to listen to interesting music. Does this mean no more Daughtery or Nickleback? Unlikely.. At least it is a step in the right direction.

Recent shows of note: The Shins (All killer, no filler), Menomena (How does a 3-piece sound so great? By playing some live saxophone!), very excited to see Spoon at Boston's Museum of Fine Arts.

Spring is really coming early this year to the North East. Normally, I would not even mention the weather, but seeing as we did not really have a "winter" in the traditional sense, I am really excited to get out of this cold hell and move on to longer nights, and warmer days!

Recently, I have been helping Tiny Whales set up their first tour of the eastern half of this country. Hopefully, if you are on the West coast, you'll see them either later this year in the fall or early next year in the Spring.

Additionally, I am getting excited to host the NYC release party for Knocks From The Underground. It will feature full sets from Endless' own Tiny Whales, Blanks., and The Main Drag, along with Helms, Tiny Amps, and Mad Man Films.

The "indie" releases thus far have really be quite astounding in my opinion: !!!, Bright Eyes, Arcade Fire, Shins, Explosions in the Sky, Dr. Dog, Menomena. Couple that with the forthcoming Ted Leo, Modest Mouse, RJD2 and we can expect a really great Spring season for tours.

On a sad note, a recent RIAA ruling is going to ultimately kill most Internet radio stations unless someone intervenes. To find out more, please click HERE.
