Typically, February is not the most exciting month. Feb 2007, however, has been quite different, at least in my little world.

Positive feedback about the "Knocks From the Underground" compilation keep pouring in, and the discs are selling right off the griddle. I am still searching for more footage from the show (I saw a ton of photos being taken) so please let me know if you can find anything.

Right after the CD release party, I took a great short trip to visit a friend in Pittsburgh. Some photos from the city are to the right, along with a press clipping from The Boston Phoenix about the Middle East's "Best Middle Eastern Food." I'd hope that I fit the day job description of "The bartender's iPod is generally impeccable."

From what I have heard of the new albums from: The Shins, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Ra Ra Riot, Ted Leo, Explosions in the Sky, Dr. Dog, RJD2, 2007 is going to be a HUGE year for music lovers.

Finally, I received a letter yesterday that informed me of my admission to NYU's Music Business Graduate Program! The apartment hunt in NYC is now underway, and I am really excited to learn even more about music. Back to school, I am looking for a part/full time music related job. If you have any leads, please let me know.

This past week has been a real whirlwind for me. I want to thank everyone (audience, bands, Middle East Staff) for helping make the CD release party for the Knocks From The Underground compilation a huge success! The Sold-Out at the Middle East downstairs was really a dream come true for me.

On top of the show going so well, the promotions surrounding it, thanks to my coconspirator, Will Bryant, was way more than I could have ever imagined. My photo and interview made the Friday edition of the Boston Metro, a CD review was on the cover masthead of the Boston Globe and landed a huge front page story in the "Weekend" section, Channel 7 News (an NBC affiliate) filmed a live broadcast for the 10:30 news, and general response was unbelievable.

My faith in the Boston music scene has been shared with the masses! I can't even tell you how I feel about the whole event... 11 bands, one amazing night of music and a sense of community.

I'd like to post many more photos in the "Knocks" section of the site, so please send me what you have, be it video or still photography. Additionally, we sold out of our initial shipment of the compilation, but more are due soon, so please place your order from the homepage and I will get one out to you ASAP.

For now, check out some of my photos from the night.
